Local businesses are slowly starting to see the benefits that come from having their business on the internet. With more local companies getting online, whether that is with their own website, a Facebook page or a free blog, the problem I am seeing is that these businesses may have a presence online – but they are not visible.
Here are some simple SEO tips from the team at Web Design Sunshine Coast, that you can implement online for your business.
1. Get On Google Places
Google has started listing local businesses that have been added to their Google Places product onto the first page of Google for local searches. This is a great way to give you an additional listing in Google – meaning you can actually have have multiple listings.
2. Submit to Local & Niche Directories
Directories are a great way to get a bit of extra exposure as well as some backlinks – which can help you with your search engine rankings. While most directory listings will be beneficial, focus on local (or area specific) directories, or ones that are focused on your area of business.
3. Use Press Releases Effectively
Press releases can be a hugely affective way to get attention to your business. If you use a PR syndication website, you may pay a little extra, but your news may get picked up around the globe – which can be very helpful with your SEO efforts.
